Application Stop for Project Subsidies in Professional Arts as of September 4, 2025
As of September 4, no new project applications for professional arts can be submitted until the end of this year. Much earlier than expected, the available 2025 budget has been exhausted. The number of applications has grown significantly in recent years. This year we see an acceleration: by the end of August, there were already 896 applications for professional arts projects. That is more than in all of 2024.
It is still possible to apply for Visual Arts in Public Space (BKOR), My First Application (MEA), Werkruimte, Nachtcultuur, and Culturemakers projects. These are separate budgets allocated specifically for these purposes.
We are aware of the impact of an application stop and regret that, for the time being, we are less able to support makers and organizations in realizing their projects.
From January 5, 2026, project subsidies professional arts can be applied for again
AFK is currently working on a completely renewed project scheme for professional arts, which will open in January and is tailored to the changing needs of different applicant groups in Amsterdam. In the fall, we will organize information sessions about the opportunities within this scheme.
